English Self E-Learning course “Grid Connection of Renewable Generation” in PowerFactory 2023.

SKU: S2023.ELearn_GCoRG.En Category:

Description

This training introduces the participant to the tools and techniques commonly used in practice for the analysis of grid integration of renewables in the power system with focus on wind power and photovoltaics (PV). The course provides a systematic approach for performing a grid compliance study, by covering the following topics:

  • Steady-state behaviour with consideration of grid code requirements
  • Short-circuit calculation
  • Harmonic analysis according to IEC 61000
  • Dynamic simulation for fault behaviour

Each topic above includes theoretical background and a practical exercise in which participants acquire hands-on experience in the use of PowerFactory.

Please note: Previous experience in PowerFactory basics, or attendance at the equivalent introductory course: “Load Flow and Short Circuit Calculation”, is essential as this is an advanced course.

Hint regarding the PowerFactory version: This training was created for PowerFactory 2023. Older versions may have a different structure in the menus (example: new context menu in PowerFactory 2023) or do not yet have some of the functions presented. The PowerFactory exercise projects provided in the course were created with PowerFactory 2023 and cannot be imported with older versions.
